Attached is an information and entry blank for the 2010 Mooreland Fair Parade. This year's theme is “Once Again in 2010” and the parade will be held on Saturday, August 14th at 3:00 p.m. Please include any information you would like announced during the parade and a name and telephone number where you may be contacted if more information is needed for your entry. The position of your entry in the parade is determined by the order the Parade Committee receives the entry. Please return entry blanks prior to fair week and no later than Wednesday, August 11th if you want your entry to be considered in parade judging. We have received several nice compliments about our past parades. We hope you will consider participating and help us continue the tradition.

PARADE ENTRY INFORMATION

 

FAIR PARADE THEME FOR 2010: "Once Again in 2010"

 

The following is a list of entries that will be judged and given awards following the parade:

(See attached page for description of classes)

The Parade Committee must receive entries for the first four classes by no later than midnight Wednesday, August 11 to be considered a judged entry.  Judging of these four classes is based on the following: THEME, GENERAL APPEARANCE, WORKMANSHIP, ORIGINALITY, AND IN PARADE APPEARANCE.

 

Entries for classes 5-8 will be accepted the day of the parade. However, if you would like any information announced about your entry during the parade by the announcer in front of the fairgrounds please send this information to the committee prior to Wednesday, August 11th.   Please enter a name and telephone number on your entry form so the committee has a contact person if more information is needed.

 

LINE UP: Please have floats and decorated vehicles in the line-up field prior to 1:30 p.m. Judging of all float entries will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m. and judging of decorated vehicles will begin at 2:00 p.m. All other entries are to be in the field and positioned prior to 2:30 p.m. Incoming traffic to the field and the road will be closed off at 2:30 p.m.

 

BANDS, MARCHING OR WALKING UNITS: These groups will line up at the Mooreland Town Hall on Broad Street at the North end of Mooreland.

 

LINE-UP FIELD LOCATION: Kennard Landreth's woods on North Wilbur Wright Road --(1/4mile north of US 36 (north of cemetery on the west side of the road.)

 

PARADE RESULTS: Results of the parade judging will be announced Saturday evening following the Queen and Princess Coronation in the Entertainment Building at the fair grounds.

 

 LARGE FLOAT: Floats constructed on a platform 10' wide x 14' long or larger such as hay wagons, flat bed trailers, grain trucks, etc.

 INTERMEDIATE FLOAT: Floats constructed on a platform 6 1/2' to 10' wide x 8 1/2 ' to 14' long such as smaller implement trailers, small wagons, horse drawn wagons, etc.

 

MINI FLOAT: Floats constructed on a platform 6' wide or less x 8' long or less such as small garden tractor or snowmobile trailers, etc. excluding a child's pull play wagon and pulled by some means other than a walking person.

 

DECORATED VEHICLES: Cars, pickup trucks, 2 wheelers, golf carts, or motorized vehicles that have been decorated.

 

NOVELTY: A walking, bicycle, or special entry that cannot be classified in any of the other classes. (Judged on general and parade appearance only)

 

HORSE UNIT & HORSE & RIDER: Award will be picked from In-Parade Appearance.

 

CUSTOM CAR: Car, truck, or vehicle that has been modified or customized. Judged from In-Parade Appearance.

 

ANTIQUE ENTRY: A car, truck, tractor, implement, etc 20 years old or older in original form.

 

 JANE'S AWARD: One' award presented to an outstanding entry in any division.
